You can download and install the mAadhaar app on your smartphone in the following ways:
- You need to go to google play store and search by typing mAadhaar and in case of iOS go to app store.
- Click the Install button and the app will be installed on your phone.
- Then after ‘Open’ the app and give some permissions click on ‘I Consent’ button and then select your language. You can use this app in English, Hindi, Bengali, Assamese, Gujarati, Kannada, Marathi, Malayalam, Oriya, Punjabi and Telugu languages.
- After you click on ‘Continue’ button your mobile number will be asked for registration and after OTP verification you will see the dashboard of the app.
How to create profile in Aadhaar app?
To use the Aadhaar app, you first need to create a profile. Follow the steps below to create a profile:
- You have to click on ‘Register My Aadhaar’ on the dashboard of the app.
- Next you need to set a 4 digit password which will be used to protect the app.
- After setting the password, you have to enter the Aadhaar card number and captcha code and click on ‘Request OTP’.
- Your profile creation in mAadhaar app will be completed only after OTP verification with registered mobile number.
Aadhaar Card Download
You can easily download Aadhaar card through mAadhaar app by following the following steps:
- You have to click on the first link ‘Download Aadhaar’ in the dashboard of the Aadhaar app.
- Then you will get two options ‘Regular Aadhaar’ and ‘Masked Aadhaar’, you have to click on ‘Regular Aadhaar’.
- You have to select the number with which you want to download. You can choose between ‘Aadhaar Number’, ‘Virtual ID (VID) Number’ and ‘Enrollment ID Number’.
- You click on the Aadhaar number, enter it and fill the captcha and click on ‘Request OTP’.
- An OTP will be sent to your registered mobile number, after verifying it, the PDF of Aadhaar card will be downloaded.
- This PDF file contains an 8-digit password, the first 4 of which are the first four letters of your name and the last 4 of which are the first four digits of your date of birth.
Aadhaar Card Mobile Number Check

- Open the mAadhaar app and go to the dash board i.e. ‘All Services’.
- You have to click on ‘Verify Email/Mobile’.
- You will get two options ‘Verify Mobile Number’ and ‘Verify Email ID’. To check mobile number you need to click on ‘Verify Mobile Number’.
- Now you have to enter your Aadhaar number and the mobile number you want to link and fill the captcha and click on ‘Verify’.
- If you have given the correct mobile number linked with your Aadhaar then ‘Verified’ text will show otherwise ‘Not Verify’ you can check again with another mobile number.
Aadhaar Card Mobile Number Update
To update the mobile number associated with Aadhaar card, you have to visit the Aadhaar service center and pay the ₹50/- charge for any Aadhaar update. But if you book an appointment before then you don’t have to worry about queuing, the work will be done within the time you booked.
Now let’s see how you can update mobile number through Aadhaar app-
- In the mAadhaar app under ‘All Services’ you need to go to ‘Book An Appointment’ and click on it.
- Then enter the mobile number you want to add and fill the captcha and click on ‘Send OTP’.
- On the next page you have to click on ‘Update Aadhaar’.
- Then after entering your name and Aadhaar number below you will be asked what you want to update. You have to tick ‘Mobile Number’ and click on ‘Proceed’.
- Now you will see your name, aadhaar number and mobile number, from where you change the mobile number and click on ‘Save & Proceed’.
- It will then show your Application ID, which you can download and click on the ‘Book Appointment’ button to book an appointment.
- To find Aadhaar Seva Center near you you can click on ‘Advance Search’ and search with center name or location pin code.
- After selecting the center, select the date and time and ‘Submit’.
- The next page will show the message of the center where you have to pay the charge of ₹50/- where you have to click on ‘Confirm’.
- Then you will get a receipt which you can print and update your Aadhaar card mobile number by going to that Aadhaar service center on the day and time of your choice.
Aadhaar Card Biometric Lock
Aadhaar card is currently the most important identity card through which not only the identity of the citizen, but also through this card it is possible to withdraw ration, withdraw or deposit money from ATMs or take loans from banks.

- You need to click on ‘My Aadhaar’ at the very bottom of the mAadhaar app dashboard.
- Only then you will reach the ‘My Aadhaar’ page where you will see the ‘Biometrics Lock’ option, click on it.
- The next page will give a message that what is the current status of your biometric i.e. locked or unlocked. The first time must be unlocked, so you need to click on the ‘Lock Biometric’ button below.
- The next page will show your Aadhaar number and fill the captcha below and click on ‘Request OTP’ and after this OTP verification your Aadhaar biometric will be locked.
If you need to unlock Aadhaar Biometric as per your requirement then again you can unlock the biometric through OTP verification in the same way. But with mAadhaar app you can unlock Aadhaar biometric only for 10 minutes, then it will be locked again. If you want to permanently unlock Aadhaar biometric, you can do so from UIDAI’s official site myaadhaar.uidai.gov.in.
