The Pradhan Mantri Kisan Samman Nidhi Yojana is one of the most popular schemes of the Government of India, which aims to increase the income of farmers and provide financial support to their agriculture. Initially, the Government of India announced a reserve of Rs 75,000 crore annually for this initiative.

Through this scheme, the government pays Rs 6,000 per year to the farmer families owning all the cultivated land. In this scheme, this amount is paid in total 3 installments. Each installment is credited to the farmer’s bank account at an interval of 4 months. So far 15 installments have been sent under this scheme.

PM Kisan 16th Installment Status Check

The 15th installment under Pradhan Mantri Kisan Samman Nidhi Yojana was disbursed on 15th November 2023. In this installment, the government has provided a total of 16,000 crore rupees to 8 crore farmer families and 2,000 rupees have been directly transferred to the farmers’ bank accounts each time.

PM Kisan Yojana 2024 has been updated in the portal due to which several farmer families (about 3 crores) have been deprived of this 15th installment. The main reason is not updating correct and complete information in PM Kisan Yojana portal like Aadhaar Verification or e-KYC and remember to have bank account link with Aadhaar, moreover verification of land seeding is now mandatory otherwise 16th installment Rs. The Government of India launched the Direct Benefit Transfer (DBT) program on 1st January 2013 to directly transfer benefits to underprivileged communities under 34 central schemes.

Pradhan Mantri Kisan Samman Nidhi Scheme is one of the largest DBT schemes in India. All agricultural landowning small and marginal farmer families in the country are eligible under the PM-Kisan Yojana and so far more than 11 crore farmer families have received a total assistance of over Rs.2.25 lakh crore.

PM Kisan is the important topic of 16th installment

PM Kisan Samman Nidhi Yojana is one of the major initiatives of the Government of India’s Direct Benefit Transfer (DBT) scheme. It was first announced on 24th February 2019 and the first installment of rupees 2000 was given to over 1 crore farmers.

In the beginning of the scheme, correct information or Aadhaar link of farmers was not strict or mandatory so installment money was easily available but it should also be understood that if correct information is not mandatory then many ineligible people can get extra benefit from this scheme and in this case with Indian Govt. To the detriment of the entire public and in that case the scheme can never succeed.

The government has mandated some important issues regarding the 16th installment, which are mentioned below.

Aadhaar Link:

PM Kisan Yojana funds are directly deposited into beneficiary’s bank account so it is mandatory to have Aadhaar linked with your bank account.

If you are an SBI bank account holder, you can easily link Aadhaar through SMS on mobile, provided your mobile number is registered with the bank.

• Just send one message from your registered mobile number that is UID<space>Aadhaar Number<space>Bank Account Number
• Then send the message to 567676.
• Once Aadhaar is linked, you will receive a successful message on your mobile so that you can rest assured that the linking process is complete.

e-KYC

E-KYC is mandatory for beneficiaries to get 16th installment. Linking phone number with your Aadhaar is mandatory for doing e-KYC. One can complete the process through biometrics from any CSC (Common Service Centre) or by visiting the PM-Kisan portal and selecting the ‘E-KYC’ option from the ‘Farmer’s Corner’.

Land-seeding

The PM Kisan Samman Nidhi Yojana is mainly made for the benefit of the farmers who own the agricultural land, so if multiple farmers are mutually receiving multiple benefits from a single land, the correct information will not reach the government. Hence whole land-seeding is mandatory for this accurate information.

This ‘land seeding’ was made mandatory since the 12th installment of PM Kisan Yojana. So in that case those who have ‘Land-Seeding: No’ are deprived of the 12th installment.

How to Check PM Kisan Beneficiary Status

After registering on the PM Kisan portal, farmers can check their name in the list of beneficiaries and the status of their profile. The steps on how to check the status on the portal are given below:

• First you need to go to PM-Kisan portal.



• Scroll down and click on ‘Beneficiary Status’ from ‘Farmer’s Corner’.
• After clicking ‘Beneficiary Status’ page will open. Then select the mobile or registration number of your choice from the left and write its number on the right and enter the captcha code below and click on ‘Get Data’.
• After clicking on ‘Get Data’ you will see beneficiary details and transaction information below. You will get all the information about the beneficiary’s account to which the money has been transferred and the status and date of the last installment.

Beneficiary given in the picture here has “Eligibility” and “E-KYC” as “Yes” but still he will not get the 15th installment as he has “Land-Seeding: No”.

The problem of ‘land seeding’ in PM Kisan Yojana

If your ‘Beneficiary Status’ looks like the above image i.e. ‘Land-Seeding: No’ then you will not get your 15th installment and any subsequent installments. So it goes without saying that this is a very important issue and the steps to resolve it are described below:

• First of all you have to write an application form to village Patwari or Lekhpal in which your land-seeding and installment payment must be mentioned. All necessary documents, photocopies of Aadhaar, Khasra, bank account passbook of the applicant shall be attached with this application form.
• Then meet the Patwari on any working day and submit your application and detail your problem and request for external verification.
• Then Patwari will come to your house and verify your land, sowing etc. and then your name will be listed and sent to Central Govt.
• Once your land-seeding is verified, the beneficiary status will show ‘Land-seeding: Yes’ and you will get your 15th installment hold within a few days, else along with the next installment.
