Lakhs of students apply for Swami Vivekananda Scholarship every year. Most of the students who applied for fresh and renewal in academic year 2023-24 have already been credited in their accounts.
Especially among the new applicants are school, college or university students who have already received the money. There are reports that many late applicants for renewal and in some cases B-Tech/Diploma course applicants are still stuck.
Swami Vivekananda Scholarship 2023-24 When will the money come in?
We know that in the case of scholarships, money is released step by step according to the supply of funds. Swami Vivekananda 2023-24 Scholarship 1st tranche was disbursed in January itself and 2nd tranche was released in the first week of March and even in the beginning of April the scholarship money was released as funds came into the fund.
Why is the Swami Vivekananda Scholarship getting delayed?
Many students have already received Swami Vivekananda scholarship money but many have not deposited the scholarship money yet. There are several reasons why this scholarship money is delayed, one of which is the disbursement of funds, which usually happens at the beginning and end of the month, so the money is released in stages.
Also, earlier only a small number of students got this Swami Vivekananda scholarship but now many are eligible for this scholarship, the government also has to increase the budget for this scholarship and a budget of 1500 crores has been allocated for the financial year 2023-24.
Another important reason for the time it takes to get scholarship money is that there is a long processing of documents and eligibility verification from application to approval. So those who registered later are currently undergoing verification process, so their money may be delayed for some more time.
Swami Vivekananda Scholarship is important to get money
The following points should be kept in mind while receiving the Swami Vivekananda Scholarship Fund:
- Those students who have minor or student account below 18 years of age or who have a tiny account, there is a possibility that the payment will be rejected due to the limit, so in that case, the account should be changed to a major account by going to the bank.
- In case of freshers uploading ‘Self Declaration Form’ is mandatory. In that case the form has to be downloaded from the portal and signed by the Head of School or Institution (HOI) and uploaded.
- New students can show ‘Application Rejected’ if they have 1-2 years of drop out. But there is nothing to worry because if everything is right in the application it will be approved after verification.
- Many of those who applied earlier for renewal have got ‘application approved’, but those applying later must upload the utilization certificate after signing it to HOI, otherwise there is a possibility of rejection.
However, in the case of Swami Vivekananda scholarship money, it has also been seen that in many cases no message has been received but the bank passbook has been updated and it has been found that their scholarship money has been received. So it must be said that those who have given the correct application, documents and bank account will definitely get the funds. This scholarship application takes about one month to be approved and may take another month to get sanctioned.
Due to upcoming Lok Sabha polls, it is expected that everyone will get the money by the second week of April or if it is scheduled, there is a possibility of getting the money even in May. However, those who do not receive money at this stage will have to re-upload the documents and apply for re-verification. In that case there is a possibility of delay in getting the money i.e. they will get the money after the polls.
