Kanyashree Project:

The Kanyashree scheme is one of the most popular schemes in the state in the field of education. The scheme was launched to encourage girls to pursue higher education, provide them with financial support and prevent their marriage before the age of 18.

The scheme provides an annual grant of ₹1,000/- to students between the ages of 13 and 18 and a one-time grant of ₹25,000/- after the age of 18. Apart from this, monthly scholarship of ₹2,000 – ₹2,500/- is provided for postgraduate studies.

Aikyashree Scheme

Aikyashree is a scholarship scheme launched to provide assistance to minority students in the field of education. Only Muslim, Christian, Sikh, Buddhist, Parsi and Jain students are eligible for this scheme.

There are total five types of scholarships under this scheme namely, Pre-Matric Scholarship, Post-Matric Scholarship, Merit-cum-Mens Scholarship, Under Talent Support Program and Swami Vivekananda Merit-cum-Mens Scholarship for Minorities. A maximum scholarship of ₹33,000/- is available under this scholarship.

Shikshashree Scheme

Shikshashree Scheme is a scholarship scheme for girl students of class V to VIII belonging to SC/ST in the state, with an annual grant of ₹800/-.

Sabooj Sathi Scheme

The Sabooj Sathi scheme is an initiative to provide bicycles to all students of class IX to XII aimed at reducing the inconvenience of school commuting among the students of the state.

Yogyashree Scheme

The Yogyashree scheme has been launched with the objective of providing free competitive examinations training to the scheduled caste and tribe students of the state. Totally free under this scheme

Preparation training is provided for JEE, WBJEE and NEET exams and various government jobs.

Krishak Bondhu Scheme

The Krishak Bandhu Scheme is a flagship scheme of the State Government under which financial assistance of maximum ₹10,000/- is provided to farmers in equal installments twice a year during Kharif and Rabi seasons, so that they can easily access crop seeds, improved quality fertilizers etc. can Besides, under this scheme, life insurance of ₹2 lakh is provided to farmers.

Bangla Shasya Bima Scheme

A large number of people are involved in agriculture in the state of West Bengal and almost every year natural calamities cause minor damage to farm crops. The Bangla Shasya Bima Scheme has been launched to protect the farmers of the state from crop damage, where farmers can get crop insurance completely free of charge.

The Lakshmi Bhandar scheme is one of the most popular schemes in West Bengal, launched with the aim of empowering and making women financially independent in the state. Under this scheme Government grants of ₹1200/- per month to Scheduled Castes and Tribes women and ₹1000/- per month to General Class and OBC women.

Rupashree Scheme

Rupashree Scheme is designed to provide financial assistance for marriage of girls from economically weaker families in the state. Under this scheme adult girls get one time grant of ₹25,000/- for marriage. More than 6 lakh families are benefited annually through Rupashree scheme.

Yuvashree scheme

The Yuvashree scheme has been launched to provide financial assistance to the unemployed youth of the state. Under this scheme the job seekers who are registered with the Employment Bank but not yet employed are provided financial assistance of ₹1500/- per month, which will be directly credited to their bank account.

Karma Sathi

Karma Sathi Scheme has been launched to help the unemployed youth of the state become self-reliant through small scale industries or businesses. Under this scheme, entrepreneurs are given loans of up to 2 lakh rupees, so that they can start their own business. Every year, 1 lakh entrepreneurs have to be given this loan in Karma Saathi project.

Karmashree Scheme

The Karmasree scheme has been launched to ensure provision of 50 days of work in a year to Job Card holders in the state.

Bhabishyat Credit Card Scheme

Bhabishyat Credit Card Scheme is a loan scheme, launched keeping in mind the small entrepreneurs of the state. Under this scheme enterprising people of the state can take loan up to ₹5 lakh to start their own business.
