Lakshmi Bhandar Project is the most popular project in West Bengal. The scheme is available only to women in the state and was launched with the aim of empowering women and making them financially independent by providing basic income support. Under this scheme women belonging to ascetic castes and tribes would get ₹1000/- per month and general category women would get ₹500/- per month.

In the current budget 2024, the amount of financial assistance to Lakshmi Bhandar has been increased and doubled. From April, general category women will get ₹1000/- and women belonging to ascetic castes and tribes will get ₹1200/-.

Earlier the number of beneficiaries in this scheme was 1 crore 98 lakh 27 thousand 21 people and by the end of last year another 9 lakh beneficiaries were added, the number of beneficiaries has now crossed more than 2 crore. The state government has earmarked an additional Rs 1,200 crore for this increased funding.

Lakshmi Bhandar beneficiaries can now easily check their application and government grant money status by mobile number. It will contain complete details including the date when and where the application was submitted, when it was verified and when it was approved.

When the money is remitted to the beneficiary’s account, it will be mentioned in the ‘Payment Status’ section below along with the bank account number and IFSC code, which month the beneficiary received the money.

You can check the status of Lakshmi Bhandar in the following ways:

• First you need to visit Lakshmi Bhandar official website socialsecurity.wb.gov.in.



• Then click on the ‘Track Applicant Status’ option at the bottom of the page or directly click on Lakshmi Bhandar Status Check to go to that page.
• Then enter your application id / registered mobile number / health card number or aadhaar number and enter the captcha next to it and click on ‘search’ to see all the status.

After applying for Lakshmi Bhandar scheme if all the process is correct then you will get total 3 SMS from application to get money and know your application status. What SMS you will receive in any case is mentioned below:

• After submission of Lakshmir Bhandar application form you will be notified through SMS and it will say ‘Your Lakshmir Bhandar application is received with application ID xxxxxx Lakshmir Bhandar, Govt of WB’ i.e. Your Lakshmir Bhandar application form has been submitted and your ‘Application ID’ too. You will know through this SMS.



• After your application is approved, when your name appears in the list of beneficiary names, you will receive a second SMS which reads ‘Your Lakshmir Bhandar application with application ID xxxxxx has been sanctioned with beneficiary ID xxxxxx Lakshmir Bhandar, Govt of WB’. You will know the ‘Beneficiary ID’ through this SMS.



• After receiving the above mentioned 2 SMS you can rest assured that everything is fine with your application and you are eligible to receive Lakshmi Bhandar money. Your third SMS will come from the bank when the money is credited to your account. ‘Lakshmir Bhandar Prakalpa’ will be mentioned below the SMS to confirm that you have received the Lakshmir Bhandar money.
