e-Shram Card List 2024
The main objective of preparing this e-Shram Card List by the Government of India is to determine the status of the working people of the country and provide them with security and financial assistance under government schemes.
For preparation of this e-Shram Card list ‘e-Shram Portal’ has been arranged, where workers can register for this card completely free of cost. EKYC has been done for working people such as construction workers, agricultural workers, domestic workers etc. and as a result a national level database of unorganized workers has been made possible. This information will also help the Central Government Ministries in formulating any new social welfare projects in the future.
The Economic Survey 2021-22 revealed that around 43.99 crore people worked in various forms of informal employment in India during the financial year 2019-20. While workers in the institutional sector have benefits like provident funds, loans and other benefits, workers in the informal sector have nothing significant.
This e-Shram Card has been arranged by the Central Government so that the unorganized sector workers can also get various benefits. Apart from job benefits, pension, insurance, financial assistance in case of disability etc. will be available through this card.
Apart from this, financial assistance of ₹1000/- per month has also been provided to all the eligible labor families who are already included in the e-Shram Card list or who have registered in this card list by the third week of January 2024.
