Nabanna Scholarship is also called Chief Minister’s Relief Fund Scholarship as it is awarded from the State Relief Fund. Meritorious students from families whose annual income is less than ₹1,20,000/- get financial assistance of ₹10,000/- per annum under this scholarship to cover their tuition fees to books and other educational expenses. becomes

Nabanna Scholarship Eligibility Criteria

A student needs the following qualifications for Nabanna Scholarship:

• Applicant must be a resident of West Bengal.
• Applicants must have successfully passed their most recent examination from a recognized Board, Council or University in West Bengal.
• Students must be admitted to a recognized educational institution in West Bengal.
• Students should have minimum 50 percent marks in previous examination.
• Annual family income of the student should not exceed ₹1,20,000/-.
• Applicant should not be in receipt of any other central or state government scholarship or stipend for the same course.

What does the Nabanna Scholarship require?

Students need the following documents to apply for Nabanna Scholarship:

• Photocopy of student’s admission fee book
• Mark sheet of qualifying examination i.e. qualifying examination for assistance at higher secondary level is secondary or equivalent examination, qualifying examination for assistance at graduate level is higher secondary or equivalent examination and qualifying examination for assistance at postgraduate level is graduation
• Copy of student’s family income recommendation from MLA or MP, DM, SDO or BDO
• Bank account details like IFSC code, branch code, branch name, account number, bank name etc. along with photocopy of bank passbook.
• Self-declaration by the student containing name of his current course of study, year, government receipt and the declaration should be signed by the Principal with seal of the current institution.
• Student’s contact details including mobile number

Nabanna Scholarship Application

Earlier the application for Nabanna Scholarship was to be done offline at the Chief Minister’s office by posting the application form along with the required documents but from 2023 the complete application can be done online from the portal.

You can apply for this scholarship online in the following ways:

• You need to visit the official portal cmrf.wb.gov.in.
• Click on ‘Apply For Financial Assistance for Education’ in the ‘Financial Assistance for Education’ section at the bottom of the home page.



• Only then will you reach the ‘Applicant Log In’ page where the applicant can ‘Sign Up’ and ‘Log In’ using the mobile number.
• After that on the main form page total three stages of the form have to be filled respectively ‘Basic Information’, ‘Assistance Related Information’ and ‘Document Upload & Final Submit’.
• In the ‘Basic Information’ page such as applicant’s name, parent’s name, relationship with the parent, gender, age, secondary school roll number, year of secondary education, address, district, pin code, mobile number, monthly income etc., then ‘Submit’ A registration number will be obtained which will be used later.
• After registration, the second step of the form will reach ‘Assistance Related Information’ where you have to provide information related to the study, like whether the applicant is getting Kanyashree or any other government scholarship, what are you currently studying and under which board, which board did you last, which board After giving the name, percentage of marks obtained, bank name, account number, IFS Code etc., you have to ‘Submit’.
• Then you will reach the final part of the form ‘Document Upload & Final Submit’ where you have to upload the essential information in PDF format within 500kb and ‘Submit’ only then the scholarship application will be completed.

• The academic record of the applicants is of course the most important by which their eligibility is mainly assessed.
• The next thing that is looked at is the assessment of financial need so in this case Panchayat level income certificate is not accepted, the applicant has to add income certificate from higher post like MLA, SDO, BDO etc.
