The Kanyashree scheme is one of the most popular schemes in the state in the field of education. The scheme was launched to encourage girls to pursue higher education, provide them with financial support and prevent their marriage before the age of 18.
The scheme provides an annual grant of ₹1,000/- to students between the ages of 13 and 18 and a one-time grant of ₹25,000/- after the age of 18. Apart from this, monthly scholarship of ₹2,000 – ₹2,500/- is provided for postgraduate studies.

Aikyashree Scheme
Aikyashree is a scholarship scheme launched to provide assistance to minority students in the field of education. Only Muslim, Christian, Sikh, Buddhist, Parsi and Jain students are eligible for this scheme.
There are total five types of scholarships under this scheme namely, Pre-Matric Scholarship, Post-Matric Scholarship, Merit-cum-Mens Scholarship, Under Talent Support Program and Swami Vivekananda Merit-cum-Mens Scholarship for Minorities. A maximum scholarship of ₹33,000/- is available under this scholarship.
